Marijana becomes an Assistant Professor

MilosSince 1st March 2019, Marijana has new role as Assistant Professor (“docent” in Serbian) at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Kragujevac. But above all, we are happy that she is going to stay the part of our team despite new obligations.

SPIG 2018

All members of the laboratory participated at the 29th Summer School and International Symposium on the Physics of Ionized Gases (SPIG 2018) held in Belgrade (Serbia). Again, Prof. Кonjević held the introductory talk. Ivke was member of the Scientific Committee for the third consecutive time. Marijana, Milica and Marko each presented the poster titled “Underwater Ablation with Two Different Laser Wavelength”, “Nanoparticles on a Sample Surface as Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy Enhancers” and “Current Distribution in an Experiment of Z-Pinch with Pre-Embedded Axial Magnetic Field”, respectively. While Biljana and Miloš presented the progress reports on “Beryllium spectral line studies in the presence of beryllium dust” and “Studies or Runway Electrons in COMPASS Tokamak”, respectively.

We are also proud for having invited two lecturers. First, Vincenzo Amendola, an associate professor of physical chemistry in the Department of Chemical Sciences of Padova University (Italy) gave a plenary talk on the “Laser assisted synthesis of magneto-plasmonic and UV-vis-NIR plasmonic nanoparticles”. Next, Andrei Pipa, research associate at the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (Greifswald, Germany) held the talk on the “Equivalent circuit approach for electrical diagnostics of dielectric barrier discharges”. We would like to use this opportunity to thank them for coming.

Marijana gets promoted

MilosMinistry of Education, Science and Technological Development has approved promotion application of Marijana to Assistant Research Professor on 30th May.

Biljana’s very first publication

We are happy to announce that Biljana’s article on “Novel plasma source for safe beryllium spectral line studies in the presence of beryllium dust” has been published in Review of Scientific Instruments. We are even more proud that the article was chosen for the AIP Editor Pick’s collection. Note that the significant contribution of co-authors should not overseen.

Marijana’s new co-authorship

Marijana’s collaboration with Poland has payed off. The article on “Study of Stark broadening of Li I 460 and 497 nm spectral lines with independent plasma diagnostics by Thomson scattering”   has been published in Plasma Sources Science and Technology.

Marijana’s visit to ELI Szeged

Marijana visited ELI (Extreme Light Infrastructure) facility at Szeged (Hungary) on July 2017 as part of “Summer school – Lasers in Medicine and Life Sciences”.

SPIG 2016

All members of the laboratory participated at the 28th Summer School and International Symposium on the Physics of Ionized Gases (SPIG 2016) held in Belgrade (Serbia). Prof. Кonjević held the introductory talk. Milica, Biljana and Milivoje had mutual contribution on “Characterization of an Atmospheric Pressure Pulsed Microjet”, which was presented as poster. While Marijana presented the progress report on “Study of Single Pulse Laser Induced Breakdown on the Target in Water”   that resulted in publication “Impact of the cavitation bubble on a plasma emission following laser ablation in liquid”. Besides, Milivoje had collaboration with plasma group from Novi Sad on “The Influence of Debye Screening on the Shift of the He I 706.52 nm Spectral Line”. Even though Miloš was not part of the Laboratory back then, he also had poster entitled “Influence of Runaway Electrons on Discharge Start-Up in COMPASS”.
