Tribute to Prof. Nikola Konjević

We are honored to announce that Journal Spectrochimica Acta B just published two articles to tribute long-lasting and fruitful scientific career of Prof. Konjević: “Tribute to Nikola Konjević”   and “Nikola Konjević and the Belgrade School of Spectroscopy: 50 Years of Scientific Leadership and Contributions to the Advancement of Plasma Diagnostics”.

These publications are result of Symposium “Diagnostics of low-temperature plasma and gas discharges” (2015) organized by dr Kuraica and dr Ivković (both PhD students and collaborators of Prof. Konjević) to honor 50 years of scientific work and 75th birthday.

Ivke held lecture at 12th FLTPD

Ivke held a lecture on “Optical emission spectroscopy for electron number density plasma diagnostics”   at 12th Frontiers in Low Temperature Plasma Diagnostics (FLTPD), 23-27 April 2017, Zlatibor, Serbia.

New lasers have arrived!

Q-smart lasers from Quantel company have just arrived. The Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers deliver light of specific wavelength (1064 nm) in high peak energy pulse up to 500 mJ, with shots length of 6 ns and tunable repetition rates up to 10 Hz. Lasers are equipped with two harmonic modules for generation of second (532 nm) and fourth harmonic (266 nm).

Ivke visit to ELI 10 PW facility in Bucharest

Ivke visited the Extreme Light Infrastructure (ELI) in Bucharest with colleagues from Physical Faculty (Belgrade). The visit was realized as part of the project “Laser induced plasmas: Spectroscopic diagnosis and applications in photonic and bio nanotechnologies” through the Romanian Academy of Sciences. The visit was realized from 3rd to 7th October 2016.

SPIG 2016

All members of the laboratory participated at the 28th Summer School and International Symposium on the Physics of Ionized Gases (SPIG 2016) held in Belgrade (Serbia). Prof. Кonjević held the introductory talk. Milica, Biljana and Milivoje had mutual contribution on “Characterization of an Atmospheric Pressure Pulsed Microjet”, which was presented as poster. While Marijana presented the progress report on “Study of Single Pulse Laser Induced Breakdown on the Target in Water”   that resulted in publication “Impact of the cavitation bubble on a plasma emission following laser ablation in liquid”. Besides, Milivoje had collaboration with plasma group from Novi Sad on “The Influence of Debye Screening on the Shift of the He I 706.52 nm Spectral Line”. Even though Miloš was not part of the Laboratory back then, he also had poster entitled “Influence of Runaway Electrons on Discharge Start-Up in COMPASS”.
